Artist profile

I am born and raised in Lebanon, moved to live in Armenia in 2001. I discovered my passion for Batik art in 2015. Ever since,I have gradually mastered this complex yet unique technique of drawing and painting on fabric, confidently shifting from simple images to more complex and harmonious compositions. My familiarity and knowledge of Arabic calligraphic art has greatly helped me to study and discover the particularities of the Armenian calligraphy and miniature ornamental art. This experience has been a pleasant challenge and an inspiration for someone without academic background in art. Saghart is a beautiful experience on silk using reserve liquid solution and silk paint. My inspirations come from our millennia old Armenian mythology and history. All my creations and designs encompass our Armenian Alphabet including bird letters, zoomorphic letters and different ornaments that include the Eternity Wheel and the Eternal Tree of life.
