Artist profile

Carlos Antonio Rivera Vera is a Mexican-born fine artist whose work explores the intersections of nature, environmental and animal beauty, cultural representation, social issues, and the passage of time. Primarily self-taught, he works across a wide range of media, including graphite, oil, photography, watercolor, collage, sculpture, and digital drawing. Rivera developed a passion for art at an early age, inspired by natural history figures such as David Attenborough, Jane Goodall, and Steve Irwin. His artistic identity took shape through the International Baccalaureate Visual Arts program, and the influence of artists including Frida Kahlo, Banksy, Katsushika Hokusai, Carlos de Haes, Damien Hirst and Jean-Michel Basquiat. At 18, he debuted in the group exhibition Pluralidades: Expresiones Reunidas with two artworks. Through both traditional media and social platforms, Rivera seeks to connect audiences with the beauty, complexity, and fragility of the natural and human worlds.
