Hessa Kalla

Artist profile

I am Hessa Kalla, a Qatari visual artist specializing in abstract art. My artistic journey began in the 1980s at the Free Art Studio in Qatar. Throughout my career, I have participated in numerous art exhibitions and international symposiums in Qatar, the Gulf countries, the Arab world, and Europe. I have received several prestigious awards, including an award at the Bangladesh Biennale in 2014, first place in abstract art in the United Kingdom in 2020, and a photography award in Egypt. I also founded an art group that brings artists together through exhibitions and creative collaborations. Our recent artistic gatherings included an abstract art exhibition in Saudi Arabia and another event at an art gallery, with plans for an upcoming exhibition in Qatar. Abstract art is my passion, and through my artistic journey, I continue to explore creativity, cultural identity, and artistic expression. My work reflects decades of dedication to the visual arts, both locally and internationally
