Artist profile

I am an experimental mixed-media artist driven by the desire to move from traditional norms of canvas and sculpture, by integrating different materials turning my work into both abstract and semi-abstract pieces. My work examines memory, materiality, migration and eco-consciousness. Discarded materials are of importance to my process as they create an opportunity to think about the environment and the impact of our actions. Additionally discarded materials act as a provocation towards my working process through unpredicted explorative processes that reflect on and connect experiences from different places, cultures and times. l have participated in the National Gallery of Zimbabwe Bulawayo Artists Residency and Domboramwari Residency in Zimbabwe. In terms of exhibitions my work has been exhibited in private, public galleries and spaces in Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho, the USA, the UAE. I hold a Bachelors in Art and Design and a postgraduate certificate in Education.
