**Michal Janovský (*1984, Česká Lípa, Czech Republic)** is a Czech contemporary painter specializing in figurative oil painting. His work combines traditional painting techniques, dramatic chiaroscuro and inspiration from the Old Masters with contemporary themes and symbolism. Human figures, animals and carefully chosen symbolic details often form visual stories exploring human emotions, relationships and the pressures of modern life. Janovský has been painting for more than 25 years and has exhibited his work in numerous exhibitions in the Czech Republic. His paintings are held in private collections in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Austria and Italy. Alongside his own artistic practice, he has been teaching painting workshops for ten years, with more than 1,000 participants. He is currently also working on a major commissioned triptych for the historic Franciscan monastery in Kadaň, Czech Republic.
